AAAS Office Design and Build

8 weeks

3,980 sq ft

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing science to the benefit of all people.

When they wanted to move to new offices in Cambridge, Officescape were asked to design and fit out an existing CAT A open plan office into a stimulating comfortable bright workplace with cellular offices for their editorial staff. A critical element of the brief was to create a bright and welcoming reception area – and central break out area to encourage staff & visitor collaboration.

This project included:

  • Short lead in and time frame
  • Complete LED lighting scheme design and install
  • Cellular office construction
  • Electrical distribution design and install
  • Solid and double glazed partitions to achieve maximum light transfer in the building whilst still achieving an acceptable DB sound rating throughout the whole office.
  • Central break out area and staff kitchen
  • Air conditioning
  • Feature reception desk
  • Corporate signage and graphics to achieve a signature look.
  • Flooring scheme throughout
  • Furniture specification, design and install

"When we met Officescape we were extremely impressed by the professional approach. It came across as a family-run company, reputation seemed to be key for them. As a client [AAAS] we felt valued, and we also felt Officescape just wanted to ensure that we were really happy with the end result."

Janet Clements, Director of ASI Operations
