As a Junior Designer you will work as part of the Design Team and report to a Project Designer, whilst gaining a wealth of experience from working within a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

The role focus will primarily be as follows:

Main Purpose of Job:

Workplace design and space planning with a passion for being part of a team that is focused on understanding building occupiers and their occupancy requirements.

Willingness and ability to quickly develop the necessary skills so that you can be resourced to projects as a reliable fee earning team member.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Work in the Design studio alongside the team assisting on projects.
  2. Work within the team to produce detailed 2D and 3D design drawings and concept sketches, using Autocad, Revit and Sketch up software.
  3. Ensure that all projects are delivered in accordance with company guidelines.
  4. Good presentation and communication skills both verbally and visually.
  5. Meet personal targets and weekly project deadlines.
  6. Check and ensure software is up to date.
  7. Record time spent on each project activity.
  8. Work with the designers to choose precedent images for projects.
  9. Care and upkeep of design team sample library and liaise with suppliers and manufacturers.
  10. Assist the design team with company internal social network and external social media input.
  11. Plan space in an efficient and disciplined manner, taking into consideration statutory requirements and recognised industry planning standards.
  12. To work alongside project team members to support brief collection. This gathered information will need to be organised and inserted into reports, presentations, and other communications in a coherent and articulate manner.
  13. Be curious about emerging workplace trends and participate in the assembly of information that will assist the team in this knowledge.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree level qualification in Architecture, Interior Design or related discipline.
  • Highly computer literate, proven experience in Revit is required.
  • Some fluency in Adobe Suite applications such as Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Technical knowledge in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work well within a team, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Proactive and able to take initiative.
  • Detail-oriented and creative.
  • Self-motivated and a committed individual, a clear thinker but can also be a strong team player with a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Flexible approach to work with a positive and ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Ability to travel between London and King’s Lynn office sites and client sites/offices for meetings.
