Working in office design in London allows us to work with a wide range of clients, all with various different office design needs.

Although we love taking on exciting, futuristic office design projects, we are often approached by businesses looking for more formal, corporate office design.

Many people have the assumption that corporate designs have to be bland and boring – but not here at Officescape! Even though designing an office space for a corporate client brings along very different design choices, we still think that corporate environments can be classy while still incorporating a modern style.

Use Natural Lighting

Just like other office environments, a corporate environment will need to have access to plenty of light.

Natural light works best as it gives a neutral feel to the room without being too harsh or noticeable and creating a natural ambience to the room. If possible, long, wide windows that let a huge amount of light in are advisable to make the most of the natural light from outside the building.

If you find that your office space gets dark too quickly when relying on natural light, try to use some soft lighting options that can be implemented into the office space that are non-intrusive. These could be small, soft spotlights in the roof or even a few simplistic lamps with soft light bulbs dotted around on each desk for when the evening draws in.

Add Some Company Branding

Adding company branding into your office is a great way to show your business off to visitors or clients when they visit your office space. It also breaks the office environment up a bit, giving your employees something to look at every so often when they look away from their screens.

You could even decorate a wall of your office with your business’ vision, creating an attractive decorative piece that is simplistic in nature but pleasing to the eye, too. Simplistic design is key when it comes to corporate environments, and less definitely is more.

Establish Employee Comfort

Corporate environments are often seen as cold, uncomfortable places, but we don’t think that has to be the case.

In fact, the more comfortable you make your employees, the more willing they will be to work and the more productive they will become.

Think about furniture choice and placement; will your employees be able to sit at their desks for extended periods of time in comfort? Does the placement of furniture in the office provide sufficient space for each employee to work well?

It’s advisable to research different furniture solutions, or discuss your requirements with an office furniture expert to ensure that your choices are adequate for your employees requirements.

Corporate offices have the reputation of being bland, uninspiring environments to work in, but here at Officescape, want to change that vision!
